Certified Play Therapist
Hello! I’m Samira
Psychotherapist, LMSW
Certified Play Therapist
Welcome! Seeking support takes courage, and I’m here to assist you.
Whether you’re seeking help for yourself, your family, or your child, you’ve come to the right place. I am a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) from Columbia University in the City of New York and a certified play therapist with over a decade of experience in psychotherapy.
My background includes working in residential, outpatient, educational, and clinical settings. I specialize in complex trauma, anxiety, depression, attachment issues, and LGBTQIA+ concerns using trauma-focused, client-centered, and attachment-based therapies. In my work with families and children, I advocate for child mental health and leverage the power of play to support growth and emotional well-being within a secure therapeutic relationship.
I believe in the healing potential of secure and nurturing therapeutic relationships for both children and adults. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where clients feel valued and empowered.
As a technical consultant, I am passionate about implementing evidence-based practices in child protection and mental health across the MENA region.
Two guiding quotes for my work are: “Play is the child’s language, and toys are their words” (Virginia Axline) and “The way of the miracle- worker is to see all human behavior as one of two things: either love, or a call for love” (Marianne Williamson).
I look forward to partnering with you in a collaborative, non-judgmental manner to help you achieve your goals.
